Our Story

Our Story

The name “Venture” implies mission and movement, and that is our goal. It begins with taking God’s Word seriously. In our worship services, and in all of our ministries, God’s Word is handled well and taught in relevant ways.

Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

At Venture, God's Word is the foundation for all that we do. Our Statement of Faith reflects our affiliation with the Evangelical Free Church of America, and summarizes an important distinction: "In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, charity. In all things, Jesus Christ."

Our Leadership

Our Leadership

Venture Church is led by the Board of Elders, Pastors Rob Peterson and Mark Brown, Ministry Leaders, and the church body using their gifts to serve in ministry.

Jesus

Jesus is the Head of Venture Church.

Jesus is the Head of Venture Church. It is our goal to love him, worship him, follow him, and share his good news with everyone. This is best expressed in Colossians 1:15-20:

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Our Story

For our first few years, we were known as “Trinity in the Pass,” a second campus of Trinity Church in Redlands. In 2012, we launched as a separate church plant, re-named “Venture Church.” Rob and Amy Peterson have provided leadership throughout Venture’s history, and Mark and Jill Brown joined them at the beginning of 2015.

The name “Venture” implies mission and movement, and that is our goal. It begins with taking God’s Word seriously. In our worship services, and in all of our ministries, God’s Word is handled well and taught in relevant ways.

The mission and movement can be seen in how we love each other. Venture is a warm, friendly church. We are a community where you can know and be known, make life-long friends, and grow in your faith.

Mission and movement are also reflected in our desire to plant churches. We like to think of ourselves as a small church with a big vision. Our dream is to plant churches locally as well as enter strategic global partnerships to partner with church planters worldwide.

In short, our grand “Venture” is love, grow, and multiply as we preach Christ and plant churches.
